"Greening of SSP at its new location has been continuously attempted right from 1966 with some success, but inadequate vis-a-vis the large expanse of barren land. In recent times, SSP 1970 pass-out batch (two projects) & Dr Subhomoy Mukherjee (1973 batch) through local DFO have attempted to increase the green cover.

Later on, based on the initiatives of Susanto Sarkar, Bhabesh Sarkar, Col Goutom Sikdar & Dr Sasanka Chatterjee a new project 'GO GREEN SSP' was approved in the ESSPEANS AGM in 2019 & followed up in subsequent meetings. The Project has been visualised with Twin- objectives of improving the outdated sewerage treatment for enhanced sanitation as also extract clear water for watering new & old green belts in the school.

Though creation of such infrastructure is the responsibility of appropriate Government authorities but the upgrade of the STP has-been long-pending due to non-availability of funds & hence to my mind assistance from Alumni is in order to help our Alma-Mater.

The project has several phases of development & the first phase (Pilot Project) has progressed well with the funds raised through CSR & contributions from ESSPEANS. A very dedicated team is managing the implementation of the entire project. The School authorities are on board. The cannons of financial management are being followed & transparency ensured.
